No matter if you have been gardening for years on end or if you are new to the idea, you know that it is not necessarily something you can do for little money.  It takes both a lot of time and money to plant and maintain your gardens so why not help your pocket book by planting perennials, or plants that come back year to year.  They are not only cost worthy, but beautiful as well.

This post from Better Homes and Gardens helps us to know what are some of the better perennials we can plant and which are a little more hearty to survive even the harshest of winters.  Remember, it’s not too late to plant!  Fall can be a great time to get some of you plants established before the frost hits.

I’ve said it before, and I will say it again and again.  The front of your home is the one place that will make the biggest impact on your guests.  It is what gives your home it’s curb appeal and sets the stage for what your home is for and in itself.  Why not update the look of your home with one simple step.  Stain your concrete.  Did you even know that was possible?  It is, and it is so much easier than you would think.

This post from Front Porch Ideas and More tells you just what you will need to stain your concrete and what are the good and bad products to use.  Head over and read their instructions and see if it is something that you would be interested in.  But what if you’re not ready to make a huge commitment and stain your whole porch?  Then just try a simple cement paver in your garden or a section of sidewalk.  I’m sure either way, you won’t be disappointed.

Although it may be a bit of an embarrassing topic for some, the fact of the matter is that the bathroom can be one of the most disgusting, germy, and smelly places in the home.  Even with frequent cleanings it is just inevitable for bacteria growth to occur with the most common place being the toilet.  Well, these little toilet bombs can help with both deodorizing and killing the bacteria and can be made for not much money at all.  You very likely have a lot of the ingredients in your home already.  The bonus is that you can put them in a nice jar or container and they can also double as décor!
