12 Crafts Created With Alcohol Inks

November 14, 2020 by Shellie Wilson

Alcohol inks are a versatile and dynamic medium for creating stunning decorative pieces. Whether you’re an experienced crafter or just getting started, alcohol inks are an excellent way to add a pop of color to your home decor. These inks come in a range of colors and can be used to transform everyday items into stunning masterpieces.

In this roundup, we’ll take a look at the many different ways you can use alcohol inks to create beautiful decorative pieces. From furniture and home accents to accessories and jewelry, alcohol inks can be used to add a touch of color and creativity to any project.

One of the best things about alcohol inks is that they are incredibly easy to work with. With just a few basic supplies, you can start creating amazing pieces right away. The ink can be used straight out of the bottle or mixed to create custom colors, and it dries quickly, so you can start to see the results of your efforts almost immediately.

One of the most popular uses for alcohol inks is for creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry. From colorful pendants and earrings to beaded bracelets and necklaces, alcohol inks can be used to add a touch of color and creativity to your jewelry collection.

Another great use for alcohol inks is for decorating furniture and home accents. Whether you’re looking to brighten up an old piece of furniture or add a pop of color to your living room, alcohol inks can be used to transform any piece of furniture into a work of art. From coffee tables and bookshelves to picture frames and vases, there’s no limit to what you can create.

Alcohol inks are an excellent way to add a pop of color to your life. Whether you’re looking to create unique pieces of jewelry, decorate your home, or simply add some color to your day, alcohol inks are a versatile and dynamic medium that can be used to create amazing pieces of art and decor.

When purchasing the ink for the first time, keep in mind that you will have enough ink for several projects which makes them really affordable. Grab different items to decorate for a fun-filled ink-pouring event. Great ideas for parties too! Have a bunch of kids all decorate items they can then take home.

As an artist or crafter, working with alcohol inks can add a new dimension to your creative projects. The unique and vivid color effect that alcohol inks provide has made them a popular choice for various types of artwork and decorative items. But for those who haven’t worked with alcohol inks before, the experience can seem intimidating at first. That’s why I’m sharing my top tips for working with alcohol inks that will make the process easier and more enjoyable for you.

Prep your surface: Choose a non-porous surface that will not absorb the ink, such as a ceramic tile, glass or plastic. Alcohol inks can stain surfaces that are porous like paper, wood or fabric, so make sure to cover them before you start.

Protect your hands: Alcohol inks are highly pigmented and can stain your skin. So, it’s a good idea to wear gloves or use a barrier cream to protect your hands.

Use the right tools: Alcohol inks can be applied with brushes, cotton swabs, or felt applicators. I prefer using felt applicators as they provide better control and a consistent flow of ink.

Experiment with layering: Alcohol inks are transparent, so you can layer them to achieve a unique effect. Start with light colors and add darker shades on top. You can also mix the inks to create new shades.

Know when to stop: Alcohol inks are very fluid and can spread quickly. You can slow the flow by using a blending solution, but it’s important to know when to stop or the inks can blend too much.

Seal your work: To prevent the inks from smudging or fading, it’s important to seal your work once you’re done. You can use a spray varnish or resin to preserve the colors.
