September 6, by Shellie Wilson. Leave a Comment

Succulents are one of the most popular houseplants and do you know why? Cause they are really hard to kill. Trust me I have tried, so far I have managed to keep all of mine alive and have even taken cuttings and replanted them with success. I do not have the ability to keep plants alive normally, In fact, I am known for killing off and ruining my faux plastic plants, that is how bad I am.

Here is a list of some fun and decorative ways to display your succulents.  If you still want the look but not the mess try these plastic succulents out. They are perfect for displaying succulents in hard-to-water places.

Succulents, are plants with parts that are thickened, fleshy, and engorged, usually to retain water in arid climates or soil conditions. The word succulent comes from the Latin word sucus, meaning ‘juice’, or ‘sap.

I’m also going to share my top tips for growing succulents because let’s face it, they’re the low-maintenance plants that even I, a notorious plant killer, can keep alive.

Give them some space: Succulents like to breathe, so don’t pack them in like sardines in a can. Give them some elbow room, and they’ll love you for it.

Sun, sun, sun: Succulents love the sun, so make sure you give them plenty of it. If you live in a place with limited sunlight, consider getting a grow light. But beware, too much sun can turn them into little crispies.

Water wisely: These plants are called succulents for a reason. They store water in their leaves, so you don’t have to water them often. In fact, overwatering is one of the quickest ways to kill a succulent. Give them a drink only when their soil is completely dry.

Get the right soil: Succulents need well-draining soil, so make sure to mix in some sand or perlite to help them out. If your soil is heavy and holds moisture, your succulent will rot faster than mold on bread.

Let them be: Succulents grow slowly, so don’t expect them to take over your house overnight. If you’re patient, they’ll reward you with their unique shapes and colors.

Propagation is a breeze: If you want to grow more succulents, just snip off a piece and stick it in some soil. It’s that easy. Who needs a green thumb when you have succulents?

In conclusion, succulents are the perfect plants for anyone who wants to add some greenery to their life without having to deal with daily watering and maintenance. Just remember to give them sun, well-draining soil, and a little space, and you’ll be on your way to growing a thriving succulent garden. Happy planting!

Here are the Top 5 Succulents to grow and get you started:

Jade Plant: Known for its plump, shiny leaves and easy-to-grow nature, the Jade Plant is a popular choice among succulent enthusiasts.

Aloe Vera: This classic succulent is not only beautiful but also has medicinal properties. The sap from the leaves can be used to soothe burns and cuts.

Echeveria: This popular succulent comes in a wide range of colors and shapes, from rosettes to ruffled leaves.

Haworthia: These small succulents are prized for their unique, textured leaves and come in a variety of patterns.

Sedum: Sedum succulents come in a wide range of sizes and colors, making them a versatile choice for succulent gardens. Their fleshy leaves and stems are ideal for storing water, allowing them to thrive in hot, dry conditions.
