We never had a designated outdoor play area for my kids, but when I was growing up, our entire backyard was our playground. We were always building forts out of spare wood and broken branches. I even remember when we were teenagers, we climbed up into the attic to make a fort up there. The only way in was by using a ladder and scaling the bathroom shower screen to get through the access hole above. It was basically a death trap, and with no insulation up there, we probably only lasted 30 minutes before we were drenched in sweat. It was a short-lived project, but man, did we have fun.
