Keeping your bathroom clean and organized can be tough. Between all of the hair products, toiletries, and first aid supplies, drawers can often get cluttered and sink tops can start to collect unwanted dust and grime. Before you give up on keeping your bathroom neat, take a look at these easy organization tips:
1. Organize Drawers: We are all guilty of “cleaning” up the vanity by tossing random products into a catch-all drawer. However, this not only creates a mess, but ends up wasting your time when you have to dig through drawers to find what you need. An easy fix is by labeling a few plastic containers to keep products organized in drawers and cabinets (i.e. hair products, medicine and dental care). That way, when you start to style your hair, it’s easy to find everything you need in one container. When you’re finished, you can easily replace the whole container without making a mess.
2. Cosmetic Corner: Although makeup bags are necessary for traveling, keeping your cosmetics in a makeup bag year-round can lead to colorful mess. Instead, place a cosmetic organizer in a designated drawer to keep makeup looking neat and fresh. This will also help you see what products you need to replace and keep makeup brushes clean.
3. Keeping the Vanity Neat: The sink top is not a place to keep brushes, toothpaste and deodorant. Overcrowding the vanity only allows more dirt and dust to gather on the sink and counter – it also doesn’t look nice! Keep the vanity simple with only a soap dish, tissue box and tooth brush holder. If you have the space, add a delicate tray to place your jewelry on when you shower or wash your hands.
4. Tidy Towels: Towels often end up crumbled up on the floor rather than neatly folded or rung up on the door. To keep towels organized, add a few matching hooks by mounting them on the bathroom wall or purchasing hooks that go over the door. Hooks can easily be labeled so kids don’t mix up their towels or double up on the same one.
5. Straighten Up the Shower: There’s nothing better than taking a hot shower after a long crazy day. Don’t ruin this relaxing experience by tripping over empty shampoo bottles or stepping on a sharp razor. Start organizing your shower by first grabbing a trash bag for waste and one for donations. Place unused products in the donations bag and throw away anything empty or damaged. Instead of using a shower caddy to hold shower products, consider using shelves that hang over the showerhead or suction into the corner of the shower.

A cluttered bathroom can be a source of stress and frustration, but with a little organization, it can be transformed into a peaceful and functional space. Here are some tips to help you organize your bathroom and keep it that way:
- Start with a clear-out: The first step in organizing your bathroom is to declutter. Get rid of any items that you no longer use or need. This can include old toiletries, expired medications, and worn-out linens. It’s also a good idea to clear out any items that are not specific to the bathroom, such as books or magazines.
- Utilize storage solutions: Once you’ve decluttered, it’s time to think about storage solutions. Consider investing in some bathroom-specific storage options such as a medicine cabinet, a towel rack, or a shower caddy. These can help keep your bathroom essentials in one place and reduce clutter.
- Maximize your space: Make use of the space you have. Use under-sink organizers to store cleaning supplies, or hang baskets on the wall for extra storage. If you have a small bathroom, consider using over-the-door organizers to keep your bathroom essentials within easy reach.
- Keep it clean: One of the keys to keeping your bathroom organized is to keep it clean. Make sure to wipe down surfaces regularly and clean the toilet and sink. Consider using a cleaning schedule to help you stay on top of it.
- Label your items: Labeling your items is a great way to keep your bathroom organized. Label your storage containers, drawers, and shelves so that you know where everything belongs. This will save you time and energy when it comes to putting things away.
- Keep it simple: Avoid overloading your bathroom with too many items. Stick to the essentials and keep it simple. This will make it easier to clean and maintain.
- Make it a habit: Organization is not a one-time task, it’s a habit. Make a conscious effort to keep your bathroom organized on a regular basis. Set aside time each week to declutter and reorganize.
By following these tips, you can create an organized and functional bathroom that will make your daily routine more enjoyable. With a little effort, you can turn your bathroom into a peaceful and relaxing space. Remember, organization is not a one-time task, it’s a habit, make it a part of your daily routine and you’ll see the difference.
