Looking for something to do, something to see? Below is a listing of various festivals and art exhibits across the country and in Canada. Maybe there’s one by you!

WISCONSIN: Bristol Renaissance Faire (through 9/6)

Nineteen-day Renaissance Faire including a diverse Elizabethan marketplace offering a variety of unique arts and crafts merchants. Wide array of entertainment, food and shopping on a large and beautiful site, rain or shine. Open every weekend from July 9th through Labor Day, September 5th, drawing crowds from the Midwest, with an emphasis on Chicago.

MASSACHUSETTS: The Vineyard Artisans Festival (Every Sunday in August)

A Vineyard Summer tradition and the only weekly juried art show where the public can meet over 60 artisans and buy directly from them. Many demonstrations, weaving, fine furniture, pottery, stained glass, oil paintings, pastels, mixed media, sculpture, wampum jewelry, quilts, clothing, sea glass windows, handmade books and much more. Indoors and outdoors, rain or shine. 10 to 2pm each day at the historic Grange Hall, West Tisbury. Free Parking, Free Admission, Playground for kids and of course great food. Don’t miss this very social event!

CALIFORNIA: Art on the Square (8/6, 9/24-5)

Art on the Square showcases the best in fine arts and crafts each month between June and September at Courthouse Square in downtown Redwood City. Discover unique painting, photography, jewelry, glass, ceramics, and more at prices for every budget. There’s exquisite jewelry at every show, and for those who can’t get enough of it we’ve added Jewelry on the Square in July. Come for the art and stay for the great music, food, and fun.

TEXAS: What Texas Means to Me Art Show (Through 8/28)

Austin Art Space announced the winners of its second annual juried awards show and exhibit focused on everything Texas, entitled ‘What Texas Means to Me’ running through August 28, 2010. The show’s theme is built entirely upon artists’ impressions of any aspect of Texas’ past, present or future.

OREGON: BRING Recycling Gallery METAL show (07/25-09/12)

BRING Gallery presents “Metal,” an exhibit of decorative and functional items made from reused and recycled metal, handcrafted by 15 local artists. The show features fine art sculptures and garden art, including gates, arbors, trellises, fountains, copper plant supports, and more. The public is invited to meet the artists at the opening reception on Sunday, August 1, 12 to 2 p.m. Metal craftsman Larry Levinson will demonstrate how to sharpen knives and restore tools during opening festivities. Visitors are encouraged to come early and stay late for music, crafts, food and fun at BRINGFest, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Garden of Earthly Delights.

ARKANSAS: Watercolorists 40th Annual Juried Exhibition (06/11-08/28)

Watercolor juried and judged exhibition with participants from different areas of the United States. Juror is well known artist Dean Mitchell. Admission is free.

NEW MEXICO: Art in the Park (5/17-10/18)

Art in the Park, a series of fine arts and crafts shows sponsored by the Corrales Society of Artists will take place the 3rd Sunday of each month in the Village of Corrales starting in May and running through October. The dates are May 16, June 20, July 18, August 15, September 19, and October 17, 2010. This year’s 6th season of shows promises to be bigger and better than ever before featuring local and visiting painters, sculptors, photographers, potters, metalworkers, and crafts artisans who have been juried into the society.

TORONTO: 50/50 Juried Art Exhibition (8/1-8/8)

One price, One size and One week only. We have oodles of artists using various mediums, various styles, but working within the same dimensions. Please join us as we celebrate our first year anniversary with our first annual juried group exhibition. After a successful first year here at Queen Gallery, working with 60+ artists, we’ve decided to celebrate with 20+ more! From emerging to established, local to international, this show exudes talent and is a true celebration of art and artists.
