Cake Plates and Cupcake Platters

July 24, 2010 by Amanda Formaro

I’m a baker. I love cakes, and cupcakes rock too. I love looking for pretty and creative ways to display desserts, especially if I can save a buck or maybe even make it myself. Cake plates and cupcake platters are right up there at the top of my list. A cake or cupcake can be delicious, but a fabulous display can put them over the top. Check out these 4 different ways to create a great display:

Shelley over at How Does She? put together this pretty triple tiered cupcake platter from glass plates and glass dessert dishes.

Laurie from Once Wed put together a chic cupcake platter out of painted terra cotta pots, terra cotta trays and your favorite patterned papers.

I’m also going to show off one of my own projects. πŸ™‚ I had been searching for many months for the right milk glass stand. I never found the one I wanted, but I did make my own milk glass cake plate!

Brandi from Tales of a Domestic Goddess found a great deal on a wooden cake stand and cover. She gave it a makeover and came up with this pretty yellow cake display stand.
