Did you know that your dryer ducts need to be cleaned?  Dirty dryer ducts are one of the main causes of house fires, and this little job should be done at least once a year.  It is a lot easier than you would think, and thanks to the blog Pretty Handy Girl, you now have a step by step tutorial on how to do this.  Take a few minutes out of your day and cross this job off of your spring cleaning list.

I just tried to go to the blogger’s site and received a message that the site owner has reached their bandwidth. The site is not accessible.

The link worked for me just now, try it again.

I suggest installing smooth aluminum tubing instead of the “Slinky” type hose if you can. They make elbows to attach with ALUMINUM TAPE (not duct tape) to bake the turns. The smooth tubing reduces friction that traps the lint inside the hose and further reduces the fire hazard. The slinky tubes can catch fire too.
