Recently I flew to Salt Lake City to attend the Evo Conference (Evolution of Women in Social Media) in Park City, Utah. I had the pleasure of meeting several crafty bloggers. This trip would not have been possible if it weren’t for the fabulous people behind Prime Publishing, though you probably know them better as FaveCrafts. Thanks to them I was able to meet some of the finest crafty minds in the blogosphere.
For the photo at the top of this post…

Me; next (I remember this woman well, but can’t identify her from the huge stack of business cards I brought back!); Amy – The Idea Room; Tresa – Foxy Like a Crafter; Tausha – Sassy Style Interior Design
From left to right bottom:
Mandi – Vintage Revivals; Kirsten – Crafting Chicks
On the left is Amy Huntley from The Idea Room. Amy and I had a chance to really sit and talk in the Lowe’s suite during the power outage we experienced on Friday night. What an absolute pleasure it was getting to know her, she’s such a wonderful person!
On the right is Jennifer Hadfield from Tatertots & Jello. Jen and I saw each other quite a bit during the 3 day event and she’s a truly genuine and wonderful person. So glad I had the opportunity to finally meet her after knowing her online for a while now!
This is the fabulous Kim Jones Demmon of Today’s Creative Blog. Kim was busy handing the social media for the Lowe’s event that I attended, but we still had a chance to chat a bit. Kim and I are very alike in many ways, so I was so glad to have the opportunity to finally meet her live and in person. 🙂
This is the adorable Allison McDonald of No Time For Flashcards. Alli and I have been networking back and forth for a few years so getting the opportunity to give her a big hug as well as stroll around Salt Lake City together during one of the photography sessions was an absolute treat!
This meeting was quite a surprise. I met this lovely lady named Jani at Evo and we were chatting while strolling the hotel halls. She mentioned that her daughter-in-law was a craft blogger, so I asked who. Turns out that blogger is Marie of Make and Takes! How fun! For those of you that don’t know, I actually write for Marie’s site on the first Monday of every month, I provide a kid’s craft. How fun to meet Marie in Seattle at BlogHer Food and now her mother in-law at Evo! Jani’s blog is Jani Serendipity.
There were quite a few cute babies bopping around Evo too. This adorable little guy is Dutch. His mommy is Kristi of Lolly Jane. I encourage you to read the twins’ post about Evo and how they are keeping the important things in life in check.
And finally, here’s a couple of silly pictures from some equally silly ladies. (left to right: me; Kelli – Lolly Jane; Tausha – Sassy Style Interior Redesign; Kristi – Lolly Jane)
Evo Conference was fabulous and I really enjoyed getting to know so many that I work with regularly. Special thanks once again to FaveCrafts and all of its wonderful editors for the opportunity to go. If you love crafts, which I know you do 🙂 then be sure to visit them as they have literally thousands of tutorials! If you are a craft blogger, reach out to them and see how you can work with them. They have forged many great relationships with the blogging world, so be sure to reach out and say hello. Tell them Amanda sent ya. 🙂

I’m travelling to the Salt Lake City area in a few weeks. I’m trying to find some craft stores or papercrafting factory stores to shop….can’t find anything online. Can anyone here list some places for me to shop? I have ACMoore/Michaels/JoAnnes/HobbyLobby in my area.
