26 Breast Cancer Awareness Projects

September 12, 2019 by Shellie Wilson

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and to celebrate we have created this massive list of DIY Breast Cancer projects you can DIY and make at home.

If you are looking for more ways to make, donate, sell, or display handmade pink ribbon projects, we also have a lovely collection of DIY Breast Cancer Awareness projects, including pink ribbon wreaths, handmade cards, scarves, beanies, ornaments, and awareness décor. That post also shares a little more of my mother’s breast cancer story, including how a routine screening found her cancer and how quickly everything changed for our family.

Breast Cancer affects 1 in 3 women so even if it has not directly touched you, you are bound to know someone whois life has been affected with Breast Cancer. My mothers were diagnosed with Breast Cancer at her very first free screening test. (Australia provides free testing from the age of 50, now lowered to 40).

It was just a routine check that found a very large Breast Cancer that had indeed spread to the lymph glands. It was around 3 months before my wedding. Everything was thrown into chaos.

Breast Cancer is crappy, shitty and no kind words should be used for it.  The only lucky thing, if you can say that is that her pre-op tests revealed a heart condition which if had gone untreated would have been her undoing.

So long story short, what better way to celebrate, remember or teach the importance of Breast test than making your very own PINK ribbon crafts. I love the pink ribbon awareness wreaths for the front doors and let’s not forget about wearing our Awareness on our heads with knitted Awareness beanies, scarves are more. I hope you love this curated list of Handmade and DIY Breast Cancer Awareness items we have created for you.

Some of these items are perfect for handmade craft stalls or Pink Ribbon fundraising events. Make small items to sell at craft booths or dinner galas to help fundraise for medical research.
