So what is all the fuss about? Well, most DIYers have been using elbow grease and sanders to strip back their vintage and curbside pieces. With this paint/stain stripping technique, it takes a whole lot less time to get the desired look of coastal cottage stripped-back furniture for a lot less effort. If you have a large project it would be cheaper to use a spray-on paint stripper.
So what do you need to be able to start stripping back your old furniture? Some basic tools and of course the oven cleaner.
Wire brush If you have a drill consider adding a paint stripper disk to the drill and let the drill do most of the work. These paint stripping disks just attach to a normal drill bit.
latex Gloves and a Face mask, this stuff is strong, do yourself a favor, and don’t inhale it. Also, this is a good time to tell you that you should 100% do this outside and make sure you lay down a plastic tarp for easy clean up too. (all that paint and stain has to go somewhere)
Old rags are helpful for wiping off too, if you don’t have old sheets or old clothes then you can buy recycled rags here and save the environment or pop to the thrift store and grab some old sheets and cut them up.
For sanding off your furniture (yes you still need to do that part) I highly recommend the Ryobi one cordless sander Cord-free is life-changing when it comes to working with furniture.

One other tip would be to use a high-pressure hose to pressure off the remaining stain/ paint, but that would be dependent on if your wood project can get soaking wet.
