Newspaper Seedling Pots

April 16, 2012 by Amanda Formaro

Newspaper Seedling PotsI meant to plant seeds myself today but I let the day get away from me. I like this method. They are pretty and totally compostable. Once the seedlings are hardened off, simply plant the whole thing in the ground. Get the how to at homework: The Dirt: newspaper seedling pots. Perfect for DIY homesteading mummas and Pappas.

Homesteading is very popular this year, but what exactly is Homesteading?  Homesteading is a lifestyle centered around self-sufficiency, sustainability, and a close connection to the land. Traditionally, it referred to the process of settling and developing land, often through government programs that provided land grants to settlers. Today, homesteading encompasses a wide range of practices aimed at reducing reliance on external resources and living more independently.

This is PERFECT for planting seedlings for a garden. I wonder if there is any reason it wouldn’t work with herbs as well? Love the idea of adding a simple tag or some color to it so you can tell them apart. Thanks so much!
