Review – Rust-oleum Glitter Spray Paint

When we were sent a box of Rust-oleum glitter spray paints to try out we were so excited to bling up everything we could find. First we thought of the obvious things like wine bottles, jars and even Christmas candlestick holders. Whilst they are all GREAT ideas we wanted to think outside the box. So the kids and I (School holidays) went rummaging around the house for things that were ugly and in need of a new life, a glittery new life!

We came across a old Gnome who was looking rather drab since his last makeover. The kitchen provided us with hand wash and ugly soap bottles that needed to be out but perhaps not seen in such a boring style. We also found some old sunglasses and of course my iPhone case which was no longer white and looked more like a sanitary napkin than a stylish phone case.

The product was great to use and most things only took around 4-5 coats. The glitter is so fine that you can barely feel it. It is truly a glitter mist that covers your project so delicately. Obvious tips are allowing it to dry in between coats, no touching it to see if it’s dry, and wearing clothes that are suitable for the glitter overspray. Oh and don’t do it before going out unless you want to look like a glitter bauble for the rest of the day.

Today I learned 2 things.

1. My fingernails look great with gold glitter on them so I think I found my NYE Fashion style.

2. Glitter projects are very hard to photograph.

Rust-oleum Glitter spray is available at Bunnings.com with an RRP of a very affordable $12.95 per can.

Here are some finished images and a special extra DIY can be found over here at our “Style Me Quick” section.
