How to Build Your Own Firepit

June 29, 2011 by Amanda Formaro

This fire pit uses the same stone that we used in ours. They are perfect for it as they are made to form a circle. This fire pit is about the half the size of ours (in diameter) but has one extra level of brick. The size shown here is ideal for yards with a smaller area to work in, our yard is large allowing for the bigger fire pit. At any rate, this is a great tutorial for building your own. This Old House also has a step by step suggesting you add gravel to the pit also. Lowe’s home improvement experts have a how to video for building a fire pit on You Tube. And finally, if you need more inspiration, I did a post last summer on 8 easy to build fire pits.
