Recycled Sweater Christmas Cushions

November 11, 2017 by Shellie Wilson

These Easy DIY Cushions have been made using Recycled Sweaters. You could use recycled blankets from the thift store too.

These Cushions are super cute and great for tweens and teens to make. This Christmas craft project uses a sewing machine but you could hand sew these or even use a craft glue.

Start by using a template to cut out the designs. Remember you will need enough recycled fabric for a front and back piece for each cushion.

There are so many different free Christmas tree templates on the internet so find a style that suits you or free hand the design on to the fabric with chalk.

Cut out both pieces and pin them together with a 1/2 inch hem. Using a sewing machine sewing around the edges leaving a gap at the bottom for stuffing.  Use a toy filling to stuff the tree. Once stuffed finish off the stitches and you’re done.

Smaller trees look really cute with cinnamon sticks coming out the bottom like a tree base. They can then be added to a centerpiece or vase.
